As far back as I can remember, I have touched people with my hands with the intention of easing their pain. Some of my earliest memories are sitting on the couch with the Lubriderm lotion and rubbing my mom’s legs.

This became a common theme in my early years.  I was always drawn to people who were hurting.

After graduating from college, I got married and moved to the state of Virginia with plans to get my Master’s degree in social work.

When I arrived I treated myself to a week long intro to Massage Therapy class at the Edgar Casey Institute in Virginia Beach, VA.  well... I loved it! I was able to touch people and help ease their pain.

It was a defining moment for me.  I enrolled into a therapeutic massage therapy school and I was on my way.

In the fall of 1995, after establishing a thriving therapeutic massage therapy practice, I was looking for continuing education classes. One of my colleagues, a deep tissue massage therapist, wanted to practice a new modality she had learned at a class called Craniosacral Therapy.  I was interested.

She practiced her 10-step process on me which she said was nothing like her usual deep work.  Her hands were so light I thought she had fallen asleep! But then, she began to work on my head.

You see, I had a skull fracture at age 10 and my head had always been a place of pain for me. So when this therapist began to work my head with the “light touch” that she learned in her Cranial class, I began to get a headache! I could not believe that the small amount of pressure she was applying to my head could create a headache pain in me to the point I had to say, “This is hurting and I am developing a headache.”

Well, she readjusted her pressure and my headache disappeared.  "Wow!" is how I was feeling.  By the time the session ended, I was deeply relaxed, amazed and extremely curious about this Craniosacral Therapy stuff.

I had to take the class to see how this all worked.  I was so used to going deep with pressure to release pain and was fascinated with the idea of learning more about this “light touch” of Craniosacral Therapy.

I took my first Craniosacral Class and it was a defining moment.  I knew this was what I was meant to do for the rest of my life.  Cranial Sacral Therapy was to be a big part of my life’s work.

Blending two of my passions.

Now, nearly 24 years later, I have blended three things I love and that brings me joy and flow: my love for the helping people transform their pain, my love for the human body and my love of teaching.

These three passions of mine inspired me to create for you a simple yet innovative  4-Step Healthy PACE self-care system for Optimal Health, Recharged Peace of Mind and Time for what matters most, to you!

What I value that influence my passion and work

I know that Craniosacral Therapy works in ways that are still not understood.  I believe in this work and its profound healing effects.

I also believe in the power of rhythms.  When you experience stress, what do you do?  Do you practice self-care, or seek those experiences that comfort you?

I strongly support that when you are burned out, frazzled or out of balance, you need to fall back on your rhythms. This is where you will find your strength.  Daily, weekly or yearly rhythms are vital to our well-being. Look at nature and her seasons.  sunset follows the sunrise.  There are not two sunrises in a row.  Think about that for a minute.  How come we think we can continue to use too much effort WITHOUT getting balance and restoring ourselves.

I believe our bodies are magnificent! The body does everything with intention.  When in pain, you want it to go away-to stop.  The step that is often missing is this: Long after the trauma or injury is over, why is your body still in pain? What is the body trying to say with its message of pain?  Most of you in pain do not know how to listen to what the body is telling you.

How could you?

This is where I can help.  I listen to your body and help you develop your golden thread to navigate out of the maze of pain that has been created due to your trauma and injuries.
